Benjamin Franklin Delighted: Crash Course in Digital Publishing PDF Print E-mail

Benjamin Franklin, “The First American,” would have loved the Internet. He was, first and foremost, a printer, author and publisher. He established the Pennsylvania Chronicle firing up the Colonies against British tyranny. He made his fortune with “Poor Richard’s Almanack” and the Pennsylvania Gazette. “Almanack” sold 10,000 copies a year - three million a year today. As a self-published author, Franklin controlled his own financial destiny.

Today’s digital publishing options hold the same lure of Freedom and Opportunity

Publishing has shifted from faltering publishing houses to the Author. Self-publishing has a significant heritage: Willa Cather, Pat Conroy, Stephen Crane, Alexander Dumas, T.S. Eliot, Zane Grey, Thomas Hardy, Nathaniel Hawthorne, Ernest Hemingway, Stephen King, Louis L'Amour, Thomas Paine, Edgar Allen Poe, Upton Sinclair, Henry David Thoreau. And Mark Twain. Unfortunately, the publishing industry is in more turmoil than the film industry. Getting an agent to read a script is tough. Try getting one to read an 800 page manuscript. Traditional publishers offer no advance, little support and no flexibility. Remember that iTunes emerged from the Napster download world. Netflix bought Starz movies for internet streaming - labeled naive by media luminaries at the time - and now ‘visionary’.

Top Ten Ways to Avoid being Mistaken for a Violent Tea Party Activist PDF Print E-mail
I talked these over with Bill Clinton and he agreed, these are sure fire ways to put people at ease regarding your tea party violence issues:

10. Fill water balloons with sticky red liquid and throw them at women wearing fur coats.
9. Wait for a jury verdict that doesn't go your way and then yell "no justice, no peace!"
8. Block a city street without a permit and yell obscenities at Republican restaurant guests.
7. Surround an isolated cabin in Ruby Ridge, Idaho and shoot homeschooling mom in the head.
6. Ignore Iranian president threatening to nuke Israel but call new apartments acts of agression.
5. Find black tea party member selling flags and beat him silly.
4. Identify a mass murdering Marxist as one of your favorite political philosophers.
3. Call everyone killed on 9-11 "Little Eichmans."
2. Avoid any three cornered hats. Better to go with a Palistinian head scarf.
1. Order your attorney general to drive a tank into a residence and burn 76 people alive.

NYT Comparison: Weatherman and Tea Party Movement? PDF Print E-mail

The New York Times has made a very bizarre comparison between the Tea Party Movement and the Weather Underground.  They seek to compare the anger of the Weather Underground - which was a Left-wing terrorist group - with the Tea Party Movement.   The NYT doesn't, apparently, have any reporters or editors that either know, read or can research History.

Check out the photos and commentary on American Power.

Wikipedia says this about the Weather Underground:

Weatherman, known colloquially as the Weathermen and later the Weather Underground Organization (abbreviated WUO), was an American radical left organization. It originated in 1969 as a faction of Students for a Democratic Society (SDS)[2] composed for the most part of the national office leadership of SDS and their supporters. Their goal was to create a clandestine revolutionary party for the violent overthrow of the US government and the establishment of a dictatorship of the proletariat.[3]

Weather Underground was a communist, left-wing organization which "the group conducted a campaign of bombings through the mid-1970s, including aiding the jailbreak and escape of Timothy Leary. The "Days of Rage," their first public demonstration on October 8, 1969, was a riot in Chicago timed to coincide with the trial of the Chicago Seven. In 1970 the group issued a "Declaration of a State of War" against the United States government..."

A prominent member of the Weather Underground was Bill Ayers, an Obama adviser and unrepentant bomber.

American media Blaming the Right from PJTV PDF Print E-mail

American Media, Blaming the ‘Right’: From Duranty and the KGB to Reuters

A great article on the analysis of Left-wing media and its roots in both Stalin's International Socialism and Hitler's National Socialism.   A prominent Soviet defector, Yuri Bezemov, analyzes the 'useful idiots' who propagate the lies of the Soviet State in the Western press.

A good read.

Free Speech Destroyed at Climate Conference PDF Print E-mail

When you don't fit an agenda, then you can't ask a question.   Let's get that straight - that's the basic Leftstream Journalism method.  If it don't fit, then kill the question.  It reminds me of a modified quote by socialist-murderer Josef Stalin quote, "If there is a man, there is a problem.  No man, no problem."  Only in this case, when its science that should entertain all questions, when 'there is a question, there is a problem.  No question, no problem.'

Solution:  Ask Lots of Questions, especially with authority.

Global warming promoter and alarmist Stephen Schneider once believed in Global Cooling.   So he's getting asked questions by filmmaker Phelim McAleer who did the expose documentary, "Not Evil, Just Wrong" about the climate hysteria.   McAleer asks about the emails in Climategate - some of which were Stephen Schneider's.   Schneider attempts to discredit rather than even admit, as the University of East Anglia and Phil Jones has, are real emails.

So they attempt to shut down the Press (McAleer was accredited as a journalist along with his cameraman) by grabbing his microphone, having Schneider's assistant talk to him, getting a Security Guard to threaten him and then avoid him.

So much for both Free Speech, Free Press and the art of Science and Questions.   These scientists might readily recall and revile the Catholic Church's (and others) attempt to shut down science five hundred years ago or more with threats and ignorance.  And now they don't see how the shoe fits?
